SNM debate in Arkitekten

Since the Statens Naturhistoriske Museum competition, a debate has been ongoing in Denmark about the project and the brief that insisted the building go underground.  We had our own thoughts on that, placing the building underground but with a glass spire that worked into the logic of Copenhagen's cityscape.

In the latest issues of major Danish architecture magazine Arkitekten, academic and architect Thomas Bo Jensen makes a case for the underground building, citing Utzon's unbuilt masterwork at Silkeborg as an excellent example of the type, which he then compares to TERROIR's prize-winning entry to the  competition.
