Kesser Torah College
Kesser Torah College lies on the cliff face at Dover Heights, just north of Sydney's famed Bondi Beach. Despite this locatiin, the school is comprised of a series of protected courtyard buildings which do not engage students fully with the potential advantage of this spectacular location.
The Federal Goverment's Building the Education Revolution program gave Kesser Torah the opportnity of adding a new multi-purpose hall to the existing site. With an extremely tight budget and timeframe, we were able to respond with a new hall, sited on the edge of the school site, perched above the cliffs.
In addition to the view now afforded students playing in the new hall, the new building also acts as a "lightbox" which can be seen from up and down the coast. Thus, the provision of functional internal spaces has also resulted in a new identity for the school.
