Koondrook Wharf

TERROIR and Hirst Projects were selected by the Gannawarra Shire Council in 2012 for a feasibility study and concept design for the replacement of the Wharf for the township of Koondrook on the Murray River, three hundred kilometres north west of Melbourne.

The primary intention of this study was to assess and make recommendations on activities and functional design for an economically viable wharf, to benefit river uses and complement existing and proposed developments in the township and surrounding region.

Extensive consultation was undertaken, leading to a successful ‘buy in’ by the local community and stakeholders.  The proposal also meets favourably with the Ports of the Murray’s strategic planning objectives for the Murray River
